Second Light Exhibition • Saturday 3rd October 2020 • Thistle Hall Community Venue
@secondlight.exhibition
Derelict items are often seen as creative waste, left discarded. Their counterpart forms continue on, but these do not. This exhibition gives discarded materials a second life through light emphasising the valuable properties still left intact.
Through various works using interactivity, colour, and light, we can engage with these materials in a reformed way, creating a new status and a new life. These pieces also highlight how much waste creative disciplines can produce and how ‘useless’ materials can be reframed to show the life still left in them though looking at them in a different light. By creating a new engagement with these materials we can draw attention to wider greater issues with creative practices engagement with materiality through a visually engaging experience.
