This is a project that I worked on this year in my final year at university. Through a process of research-informed practice, I had to investigate design issues particular to the future of Transformation design and Sustainability where I looked in the coffee production process. The research conducted for this project led me to try and change the social behaviour that surrounds the consumption of coffee in cafes by dissociating it as a support for social interaction. My overarching goal is for less coffee to be consumed as the process of making the coffee production is very labour and resource intensive with a huge Carbon Footprint impacting the environment. I’m not wanting people to completely cut coffee out of their diet but to be more conscious of how they are consuming it and the unnecessary impacts that they are subconsciously contributing to.

This is the document which contains all my support material and my creative outcome of developing an ‘Anti-cafe.’
